Sales for the Roton line of hinges were stagnant when the brand was purchased by Hager Manufacturing. The Roton full-length hinge is designed for high traffic doors that get lots of abuse — such as those in schools and hospitals — but most schools use standard butt hinges that break under continuous stress. MediaCross surveyed several dozen school administrators and architects who specify for schools, then developed a program called the ‘Roton Fix It Forever Giveaway’ in which we gave thousands of schools and architects one hinge for one high traffic door, and asked them to compare the Roton hinge with the standard hinge. Roton was the hands-down winner. Sales jumped. Then Hager’s manufacturers reps jumped and Roton sales skyrocketed.
